For those that don't already have this recipe from Jen Reese (
aka those that are not in my ward), here is the Recipe of the Rolls that I brought on Thursday.
- 2 T. Yeast
- 1/2 c. scalded milk
Mix together with a pinch of salt and sugar (to help activate the yeast). Set aside.
- 1/2 c. butter, cubed
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. salt
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 6-7 c. flour
Mix butter, sugar, eggs, salt and milk together. Add the yeast mixture and then gradually add the flour until dough is soft, but not sticky. Knead for a few minutes until dough is smooth. Cover and let rise until double (45 min - 1 hour). Roll out dough and brush with melted butter. Cut using pizza cutter into 1.5 by 6 inch strips. Roll up strips from short end and brush with melted butter. Place on greased pan and let rise again (45 min - 1 hour). Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 min (
depending on oven and your liking, I baked them 14 min and I think it was too long), or until golden brown. Immediately brush again with melted butter.
Enjoy! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
